Can Linuxsampler or Sfizz reliably play SFZ files made for Sforzando?

@Audiojunkie

Your two best bets for near-Kontakt quality will be with Sfizz, Decent Sampler, and Sforzando (with WINE). Start with the first two, and move to WINE only if you can't find what you need. If you end up deciding to use Sforzando as well, then be sure to check out the high quality offerings available here:

FWIW, I've been using many of the free Karoryfer SFZ sample libraries flawlessly under SFizz. Also, note that the bulk of SFZ libraries on the PulseAudio site are actually made by Karoryfer.

About the only thing you might miss is the GUI or any small features like having an lfo modulate another lfo for humanization. Otherwise, the basic sample sets should play fine for the most part in Sfizz. I'm getting ready to buy Snowkiss Guitar, which to my knowledge is the largest single sample set of a guitar in SFZ format. :)
