New ambient EP

Post by sysrqer »

I made this almost entirely in my hardware Eurorack, recorded and mixed in Bitwig.

Listening to 'Holding On', really enjoying the sounds, the building energy, blending instruments, and evolving theme!
You really show the capabilty of the Eurorack platform 8)

'Drifting Away' is like a second chapter of a compelling novel. I love the saturation/distortion on synth tones,
the pad swells, and layered low/high frequencies. Tailor Sweft was overheard asking, 'Hey Billy, whats a eurorack?'

'Brightening' is another new chapter, holding to and elaborating on the ambience, and beautiful in it's own space.

'Out Of Reach' adds new sounds and new intrigue, I think really captures the idea of the title. The dissonance
is subtle and very effective, and the mixing on all these tracks is excellent.

'Wires' seems to me, to present some device capable of capturing whatever energy surrounds it,
and translating it musically. Like AI spying on 5G...fitting conclusion to an excellent collection.
WOW!

Nice EP, but misses some of the darkness of Contact. It even seems to evoke a feeling of contentedness :)

Thanks for listening @folderol and @Impostor. Imposter, yes, definitely a different direction. Interesting about the contentedness, I guess that probably rings true into wider life but perhaps was temporary because I'm back to making darker stuff right now :)
