Equalizer with background picture?

Post by kamiluni »

Hi,
I'm searching an equalizer where I can load a picture as background.
Why?
Because if you have a picture of a good equalization, you can use it as a guideline ti obtain the right equalization as a starting point for mix and master.
Alternatively, I'm searching for a spectrum analyzer that can load an image as background.
Thanks!

There is hardly any. Try to play with window opacity, it can be done with window manager. Open the picture in any image viewer and place the EQ on top of it, then change EQ window opacity/transparency to 50% to start. How to do it depends on the specific DE.

Bitwig / Surge XT / Linux Studio Plugins / u-he stuff / TAL stuff

As it's a very weird request I suggest you use a marker (washable) on your monitor.

Maybe gx_melmatcheq.lv2 can accomplish what you want?

The LSP Spectrum Analyser allows you to have multiple inputs, each with different colour readings overlaying each other. You can even freeze an input for reference which will give you the same effect as you are wanting.

I know it is a weird request...but... :D
I don't wanna match with a specific reference song, for this there is the awesome "matchering"!
I want to create a database of songs, for example, pop music, by a software I made, I can extract the equalization for each song and build a graph with these data. So, I will have some "zone" where the song I have to master, must stay in.
There is a quite similar thing done by an izotope plugin, but I want do it without any non linux native plugin.

You can use Pureref or Beeref for that, it allows you to place an image transparently above any program. It is meant for graphics editing software, but I do not see why this should not work for this usecase as well...
