Not only in the USA. Even if you have your own house on your own ground there is always the system forcing you to pay taxes for your property and so forces you to earn money (since you can't pay taxes with potatoes) and so forces you to be part of the FIAT money system where some people create money out of nothing and lend it to the state who needs money to pay the interest rate.

A perfect and devilish system.

There's a reason why the USA middle-class (and their one form of protection -- unions) has been systematically dismantled over the past 70 years. The middle class were starting to get a more equitable share of the wealth proportionate to their contribution to the GNP. The oligarchy can't have that.

The income/wealth gap in the USA is the highest since the early 1950's. Less than 10% of the USA popularion owns 99% of the country's wealth. The USA has never been a democrary. It's technically a republic, But it stopped being even that a long time ago.

NAFTA and the T-TIP, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund are all designed to serve the oligarchy.

This is exactly how the roman empire fell. I give the USA about 20 to 50 years at the most. Saudi Arabia just destroyed the petro dollar by accepting payments in other currencies. The dollar will cease to be the currency of reserve winth 5 years. The new chinese digital currency is already way further along than any western counterpart. BRICS is going to break the USA's control over all international entities. The USA has no manufacturing capability, is in debt to china (who will soon wield that position to completely destroy whatever manufacturing the USA has left), and is burning through whatever resources we have left in order to operate a out-of-control war industry and 800 foreign military bases.

I'm not a religious person nor am I personally any fan of Catholic doctrine but that is a great quote full of wisdom, if even 10% of people in the world lived with principles like that the world we live in would be vastly different, this quote doesn't even require a deity just a profound respect for preservation of the power of choice to do what ought to be done in a given situation.
