Using external audio-rate clock to sync Jack transport?

Post by mvdev0 »

Hello!

I'm using the BeatStep Pro "Clock Out" to synchronize VCV Rack/Cardinal.

Is it possible syncing the BPM in Jack transport this way too?

It would be nice start/stop the transport only and forget the external clock from BSP or other external devices/DAW..

Sorry, I opening another topic, this one can be closed.

Does VCV Rack/Cardinal have to a setting to "sync to MIDI clock"?

If so, set that.

Connect your BeatStep's USB to your computer. Make sure the INT light is on (next to the SYNC button). If not, press SYNC until INT is lit up.

Set VCV Rack to use your BeatStep's MIDI IN as its input. Use the BeatStep's TEMPO knob to set the tempo, or tap the TAP/METRO button 4 times at the desired tempo. When you want you start play, simply press the BeatStep's Play (transport) button. Press the Stop button to stop.
