Nothing for Jimmy Buffett? Checkout "Brahma Fear" or "Nautical Wheelers", both recorded pre-1975.

IMHO the early 1970's "alt country" was gently subversive, at least compared to today's crossover / conformist stuff...

RIP Steve Harwell from Smash Mouth, famous for their song "All Star" and their cover of The Monkees' "I'm a believer" featured in Shrek, among other things.
