You can use jack-plumbing as well. It has to be active permanently and reads a file with rules to connect/disconnect clients. The rules file may contain regular expressions.

@falkTX: I'm using carla at the moment in Reaper to play sfz files from https://github.com/sgossner/VSCO-2-CE/tree/SFZ
The soundfiles are located in ~/.sounds/sfz. Sometimes when opening Reaper Carla will not play the samples immediately. Sometimes it works with reloading the sfz or by hitting some notes. Is this issue known?

I'll check if that helped later, although I updated Carla yesterday.

SFZ files sometimes still get lost in Carla, i.e. when opening the DAW the file is not loaded in Carla anymore. Is there any workaround for this?

Now CARLA doesn't work at all with the SFZ VSCO library:

It happens when trying to load the sfz file in carla. Really strange when it's working for you.

Even SF2 files are not working anymore. When I load the GeneralUser GS MuseCore it's not possible to choose instruments and I don't get any tone out of it. Am I doing something seriously wrong or did I screw my Carla settings? Also the gear-wheel symbol is not active in Carla.
