A rack that accommodates a desktop computer & screen and two piano keyboards

Post by Veerstryngh Thynner »

Hi all,

The core of my current gear:

- desktop computer
- screen
- two speaker boxes
- M-Audio Keystation 88 MIDI controller (large)
- Gem 5-7 electric piano (small), doubling as spare MIDI controller.

All this, except the desktop, is currently mounted on an improvised "rack" consisting of an old black metal computer desk with an ancient toddler's school bench screwed on top. Unfortunately, I can't send a screenshot since I don't own a camera or a mobile with camera included; the latter, even without camera, of no use to me anyway.

However, the screen is rather high up now, resulting in shoulders and small of the back being very painful, after four-hour desktop sessions as conducted, of necessity, over every evening of the past fortnight. And with many more such sessions to follow, I'd probably need some rack that takes the screen down to about eye height, whilst still accommodating all studio components (desktop preferably included) as summed up above.

Does anyone know if such type of rack exists/is commercially available? And for further clarity: my landlord forbids mounting anything on the wall. Anything that requires an electric drill, that is.

Thanks very much for your help in advance.
