VST 3.6.8 SDK Released

Postby VanHammen » Mon Nov 13, 2017 9:32 pm

Looks like the VST SDK was recently updated to version 3.6.8 on github:

https://github.com/steinbergmedia/vst3sdk

From the release notes:

New AudioHost showing how integrate a VST3 Plug-in in a Jack world! This required Jack Audio (http://www.jackaudio.org), only tested under Linux but should work on Windows 32bits and Mac.

Even VST 3 is more actual and innovative, the VST 2.x interface was designed much better.

I'd rather see developers focus on LV2 rather than VST3.

VST3 license situation is a lot better than VST2, but personally I find it an overcomplicated mess of classes much uglier than the LV2 data types.
LV2 has a steep learning curve, but things are usually well defined and you know what to expect from hosts.
