Hi all,
I'd like to know if any of you uses an analog mixer to record with Linux, better if with Ardour.
If so, what brand?
Thank you

A Mackie 1642 (and an RME 9632 Hammerfall sound card), but to connect my microphone to the mixer I use two old German broadcast amplifiers: Siemens V276 http://prorecordingworkshop.lefora.com/ ... VYg_CdpxNA (solid state, 1967) or TAB V76/80 https://vintageking.com/tab-telefunken- ... 67-vintage (Tube, ca. 1964). I guess they sound even better than the Mackie amplifiers.

All of mackie's new vlz4 line of mixers have onyx preamps on them, no matter what the size. So if you don't need a lot of channels or you need the space on your desk, 402 vlz4 may be a good choice. It can drive my beyerdynamic dt770pro 250ohm cans easily and the preamps are of a high order.
