Rosegarden stops accepting MIDI input

Post by Zenith88 »

If I start Rosegarden and create a new track, it will allow me to enter notes from the MIDI keyboard. But once I stop and view entered notes in note editor, there is no going back. I can't seem to be able to continue the same track or enter another track - MIDI input will not be recorded.

Did anyone have the same problem?

As no one seems to be having the same issue, maybe you could recommend software other than Rosegarden capable of entering chords from MIDI keyboard?

I have done nothing but starting denemo and I see jack midi input and output ports in qjackctl. In Linuxsampler you need that the MIDI input is Jack, not ALSA and then make the connections in the MIDI tab. If you can't choose the jack midi input in linuxsampler (or if you have any other alsa-midi-only soft synth) you need a2jmidid.

This is a known problem and due to the timer that Rosegarden uses by default.
Change it to your sound card and you'll be fine :)

Edit->Preference->MIDI->Sequencer Timing Source

I use PCM capture 0-0-1

Edit.
There is a new release out now, which has various bug fixes. That may also help.
