I've stumbled upon them when using ZynAddSubFX.
I tried searching the web many times to find some information about state variable filters, but I failed.
What's the deal?
What are state variable filters?

Re: What are state variable filters?
Basically its a filter that gives you 3 outputs at the same time, a highpass, lowpass and bandpass filter. So in a way you get 3 filters for the processing cost of 1. You can mix or process the 3 outputs in different ways. I haven't used them in zyn so I'm not sure how it exposes them. Rakarrack's mutron and echotron let you blend all the outputs however you want.
