OpenAV Productions: Sorcer
Hi everybody!
I'd like to announce a new wavetable synthesizer that I've been working on. Its an LV2 plugin that is designed particularly for dubstep / electronic genres. The plugin is developed under OpenAV Productions, a label that I'm going to use to release my audio / visual software from now on.
For more information checkout openavproductions.com
For information on the synth itself checkout openavproductions.com/sorcer
There's a demo video available: its a small taster to the plugins functionality. All melodic sounds are generated by Sorcer!
Finally I would like to draw you attention to the release model of OpenAV productions. It is one based on donations and time. Basically I release the source code for the plugin (giving everybody free & libre access) once either a certain amount of donations have been made, or a certain amount of time has passed. Details available on openavproductions.com/support.
Cheers, -Harry

Cool! Sounds interesting, looks professional.harryhaaren wrote:I'd like to announce a new wavetable synthesizer that I've been working on. Fun! The only downside to this model is that it's hard to open up to do collaborative development, and I like that . But then of course there's not a whole lot of models that do work well for such a scenario.harryhaaren wrote:Finally I would like to draw you attention to the release model of OpenAV productions. Doosc: Thanks!
AutoStatic: Cheers!
Raboof: Thanks, and indeed that is one downside, that the initial coding isn't done by a group. I'd welcome suggestions on how to open the source more, while not removing the reason to donate to the project.. its difficult to really get that part down.

Congratulations! This is just fantastic. And presets also, great! See if I can turn my RPi into a dubstep synth
Re: OpenAV Productions: Sorcer
Can't find any indication under what license the source code has been released, can you please add a license?

Re: OpenAV Productions: Sorcer
Just uploaded sorcer to kxstudio-team plugins repo. It was a bit of a PITA to package, had to move wscript to the top directory and modify it. And I'll look into the compileInstall.sh script with respect to packaging and into adding the factory presets to the package.

No problem I hope the packages won't fail building, I might have missed something.

Yeah.. sorry bout that. First proper release and all. I'm still changing my workflow with FAUST, LV2, and various UI TK's...AutoStatic wrote:It was a bit of a PITA to package, had to move wscript to the top directory and modify it
If I find some time to work on it, i'll port the build system to use make, and then use purely that. It will be lots easier to package then Thanks for packaging! -Harry

Re: OpenAV Productions: Sorcer
@Harry, no problem, I've learned a thing or two about waf now
@falkTX, looks ace! The raring and quantal packages failed to build though because of a missing libboost-dev package. I'll look into it tonight.
