Now that's an interesting question, Brummer!
Using signalgen, I found I could just hear 16000 Hz ( signalgen -s 48000 sine 16000 ) with my audio system running at normal listening levels. At frequencies above that I needed to increase the gain to be able to hear it. At 18000 Hz I could hear nothing even at high gain.
I discovered one thing in this test: the very high frequency response of my AKG headphones is rather better than that of my Alesis monitors.

So what was your result, and why do you ask?

Thanks for answer, yea I wont to improve a distortion unit, therefore I wont to clip high frequency before running
the unlinear algo. I'm just unsure at what level adjust the lowpass.

I'd suggest 15kHz, simply because that is the maximum frequency of fm radio broadcast.

Good point,
I use now a lowpass(2.order) (15000hz), highpass(1.order)(31hz) before the distortion, and a lowpass(1.order) (6531hz) afterwards, that suits perfect my needs.
