Might be some clues here:

Linux is very hardware-centric, and sometimes the newest gear will take time to have kernel support.
A usb keyboard with trackball may be a temp solution you can live with. Or need. This one has a long cable:

At some point, a usb audio interface may be desired, or an extra distro added by way of installing it on
an external drive, for testing the latest updates, once the first on is stable. I have a few AVLinux setups,
and always keep one that is stable, no untested upgrades allowed.
Bluetooth/wireless in win/mac musicians is not perfect, and only recently have I read where latency is just tolerable for recording,
in some specific wireless hardware combos, which I have not verified. This article discusses recent difficulties:

Hopefully users with BT/wireless gear and experience will have better info.
Cheers, and welcome to the asylum!
