Displaying the main frequency component

Post by dekine »

Hi, is there a plugin I can use in Ardour to show the frequency (as a number) for the main peak in a signal's spectrum? I've found plugins that show a spectrogram as well as oscilloscope plugins but I couldn't find any that just shows the peak frequency...

The main use case is when I have a signal that is essentially a dirty sine wave, and I need to find the frequency of that sine wave.

Shouldn't a simple tuner do that?

I guess but the one I have found (x42 Instrument tuner) doesn't seem to work in my case, probably because the setting is limited to 880 Hz (or maybe 1000 Hz depending on the control) and I have 3150 Hz and 10 kHz signals... Do you know of a tuner plugin that works with higher frequencies?
