The Elder Brothers - "Just the Two of Us"

Post by GMaq »

Hi!

One of the bands I play in has just finished an album in the Bandshed Records Studio to be released in January. My bandmate gents are lifetime musicians in their early to mid-70's and play with as much fire and vitality as ever. They have selected a collection of Cover tunes with our own spin on the arrangements. I'm sneaking out one of the tunes to post here, our arrangement of Grover Washington Jr./Bill Withers "Just the Two of Us"..

Another great tune from you and the boys @GMaq ! Nice playing and singing, and the sax breaks are sublime. 8)

Really great! A great song, played by great musicians, honestly. For my personal taste, the mix is overcompressed, it feels like the breath was taken away, but in the end it's more important to have catched a great moment of musicianship.
I really like it :) and it will find the way into my music collection.

Fiddling with sequencers does not evolve into music necessarily and Mac users have smelly feet and guzzle little children.

Wow, getting a very strong Rippingtons vibe! (They've been a favorite here for ages)
If a 'perfect cover' list is out there, this should be on it. :D I'll take the '70s guys over AI any time!
Cheers

Really enjoying this.
But had a double-take when I saw the topic title. I used to know a pair of guitarist/singers that called themselves "The Elderly Bothers" (sadly gone now).

The Yoshimi guy {apparently now an 'elderly'}

Such a fun tune and nice interpretation! I hope I'll have the same willingness to play music and enjoy it, in my 70s!
