Moving playback cursor by grid with shortcuts

Post by alex stone »

A simple question, after trawling the manual, vids, and the interlink in general.

  1. Can I move the playback cursor, by grid, with keyboard shortcuts? (The intent being to camp in step input mode, and use the playback cursor to locate where I want the notes.)

EDIT> After searching again, I found 'em, and for those who want to know;

To go forward + = advance the playback cursor.

To go back - = rewind the playback cursor.

You can use these two keys on the main keyboard, or the NumPad. They behave the same.

I can't quite recall if those keys move the cursor to the next exact grid location.
They might just 'blindly' move a fixed number of ticks... or not. Maybe I fixed that.

You can tell if you bring up the Big Time window and see if it really moves to a new grid location
on exactly the next bar or beat line. Right on the "x:: x:: 0" mark if it's a bar.

Yes, it's accurate to grid, as observed in the big window.

Nice to know, eh?
