Hello from sunny (Hahaha) South Wales

Post by LaughingInPurgatory »

Hey, I'm rubbish at intros but let's give it a go huh?
I'm 48 and been making computer based music on and off since like 1990 with the Amiga (soundtracker/octamed) and later PC's.
Still using tracker based stuff, even today. I use Renoise as my DAW of choice, though nowadays I use VSTi's instead of samples generally.
It wasn't til the lockdown in 2020 that I really took the time to really get into it properly though and have since released 3 albums and 4 EP's through routenote.
I would probably describe my music as a mix of rock, electronic, crap, with a dash of 80's and industrial hahah.
Currently running OpenSuSe AEON (formally microos gnome desktop) as my platform of choice

Welcome! Wish I had an Amiga back in the day. Was it a good 'ol 500 or the 1200 race monster?

How long have you been using Linux?

Hi friend from the wet country :lol:
Our family used to have holidays in the Tregaron region when I was a kid (a very long time ago). We even had sunshine one year!

The Yoshimi guy {apparently now an 'elderly'}

Alas not. The 500 I gave to my brother when I got the 1200 and he broke it. The 1200 I had later, can't remember what happened to it all these years later.
Do still have a 1040 Atari ste , upgraded to 4mb though lol
