recording midi track

Post by topmusik »

Hello there, I want to record a Midi track and I am missing something. Track is not recorded. My workflow:
1) Add Wave Track
2) route Synth to Wave Track
3) route Wave track to Out
4) activate input monitor (green circle) on Wave Track
5) arm Wave track for recording (red circle)
6) click Record button in Menue

in Wiki I can only find https://muse-sequencer.github.io/docs/tracks.html
Is there anywhere other a description for this procedure? If not pls somebody gimme one :)

Hi there topmusik!

Your list of steps doesn't really make sense in the context of MusE.

First, there isn't an actual midi track, secondly, no wave track is necessary when using midi.
The basic track routing for using a synth plugin is as follows:
midi track -> softsynth -> output

Do read through the quick-start page:
https://muse-sequencer.github.io/docs/beginners.html

And maybe check out this video:

thanks, I got it
the missing step is written in the link you sent "The process is completed by clicking on the Play button in the Arranger."
so all 6 steps made sense when completed with the 7th above :)
