Hello again, I got the No Budget Orchestra Plugins to work by copying the files from the libs folder inside the NoBudgetCommon folder, to the usr/libs folder.

Some instruments give map.txt error and also some sound to the left side, is this last intentional?

Thanks for creating these plugins, regards.

Yes. The default pan position for the orchestral instruments is to pan them according to where they would be sitting in a real orchestra. For example, the violins are on the conductor/audience's left side, and the cellos toward the right.

But you can change the pan position by putting a Pan controller (10) midi event (with a value of 64 for center) in your DAW midi track.

Buenos dias.

Hi, jeffg, that makes perfect sense and shows the detail you put into setting up the sounds.

Thank you for your work, greetings.

The source code is now included with each plugin zip (and nb_common.7z) in the src folders. (It has to be because the installer gives you the option to compile the plugins right on your own system, for an optimized version).

So I removed the separate "code" listing, as it would take up a lot of space (I'm surprised I've been able to get as much sourceforge space as I have. I remember someone tried to upload a bunch of sfz's, and he was given a lot less space than I already have). Plus, I didn't want to have to update a separate copy of the source.

Are you working directly with the source (ie, adapting it to some project)?

When I get time, I'm going to document how to use my sample player code. You can use it not only to add sample playback to your own app, but also easily create an lv2 plugin out of your own set of waves without needing to do any programming. (I'm also working on a utility where you'll just tell it to "take this set of waves and make me a lv2 instrument plugin out of them).

Ah, okay. I was wondering because I was tracking the repo to watch for updates.

I don't use sourceforge's tracking features myself, so I don't know if it's possible, but you'd want to track the "Files" page instead.

But I always announce each update with a new post in this forum anyway.

I'm getting close to finishing the GM patch set (with some omissions in the "synth" category. The GM synth sounds are rather dated sounding, so I've decided to cover only the ones I've found in my own collection of nearly 1000 MIDI files, and just substitute generic pad sounds for the rest).

Soon I'll be starting the MIDI File Player app, which will load a midi file, and use this complete GM patch set to play the midi file. Preliminary listening tests I've done show a dramatic improvement in fidelity over sf2 GM patch sets, as well as the Roland SC-7 soundset still used by Microsoft in current Windows versions.
