Sound on HDMI

Post by Musicteacher »

Hi,
sorry, this is a general LInux sound question, but I tought that here are the experienced people!

I need to get sound on HDMI. Those are my cards:
[ag@agantergos ~]$ aplay -l
**** Liste der Hardware-Geräte (PLAYBACK) ****
Karte 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], Gerät 0: ALC257 Analog [ALC257 Analog]
Sub-Geräte: 1/1
Sub-Gerät #0: subdevice #0
Karte 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], Gerät 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Sub-Geräte: 1/1
Sub-Gerät #0: subdevice #0
Karte 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], Gerät 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1]
Sub-Geräte: 1/1
Sub-Gerät #0: subdevice #0
Karte 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], Gerät 8: HDMI 2 [HDMI 2]
Sub-Geräte: 1/1
Sub-Gerät #0: subdevice #0

If I use alsa, I get sound:
aplay -D plughw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav

But I use KDE and pulseaudio, and via pulse, I can select HDMI output, but I get no sound. Any ideas where I'd have to look what's wrong? Some pulse stuff I might have to reset? The Analog output works with pulse, so my general pulse / KDE Setup is working.

Thanks,

Andreas
