Live music distro with persistence on hard drive

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

Live music distro with persistence on hard drive

Post by English Guy »

Hi All.
Is there currently a music live distro that anyone know about that can leave a file for persistence on a computers hard drive, like Puppy or the much missed Dynebolic with its 'nesting '

Hi,

Not exactly, however an AV Linux MX Edition ISO Bootable USB created with the MX Tools "MX Live USB Maker" will build a USB key with a persistence option (requires you to press F5 at the boot screen) and then the session and changes are saved to the USB Key itself. So a 64Gb USB key could be a pretty large self-contained Studio for quite some time..

Some of the Puppy releases now offer and prefer the option of using a folder on a drive for persistance.
The folder can be moved around between drives, like the .4fs files, but with easier access when the Puppy
distro has not been booted, and data access is desired.
Cheers
