Commercial orchestral libraries in linux?
But if I would like to have something better, what would be suitable options?

Nice to know! Some of your libraries might intrest me at some point.d.healey wrote:All of my libraries here - https://librewave.com/ - are available as native GNU/Linux VSTs
For current need you don't seem to have suitable offering. Most important thing for me now would be strings, specially cellos.

Re: Commercial orchestral libraries in linux?
Yes. I've started work on the solo strings already, I've sampled a concert harp and a violin. Once I've done the solo strings I'll start on sections.bluebell wrote:Do you plan to make strings libraries?d.healey wrote:All of my libraries here - https://librewave.com/ - are available as native GNU/Linux VSTs

Re: Commercial orchestral libraries in linux?
Does it work reliably in Linux? Kontakt player would be ok, but anything requiring full version of Kontakt is out question, just because Kontakt costs more that I am ready to payd.healey wrote:If you don't mind using non-free software then why not use Kontakt?

Re: Commercial orchestral libraries in linux?
I don't know about Kontakt player. I use full Kontakt 4 and 5, they both run fine. I don't know about K6 though. Aria player also works so maybe check out Garritan Personal Orchestratavasti wrote:Does it work reliably in Linux? Thanks, Garritan Personal would be on suitable price range for me. I'll consider it.d.healey wrote: I don't know about Kontakt player. I use full Kontakt 4 and 5, they both run fine. I don't know about K6 though. Aria player also works so maybe check out Garritan Personal Orchestra

Jordan Rudess at 2016 Namm demos Miroslav
piano first, strings at 4:20, more strings via keyboard spits
at 5:55 harpsicord 8:40 String quartet 12:40
string sections 14:26 brass 18:24 full orchestra 19:40
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xwo04yDBhjQ
IK Miroslav Philharmonic $250 euros on sale,
A 10 year old arrangement video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdrUL10gjWY
cellos enter at 2:40 Uses three instances of old Miroslav in cubase,
sounds are much nicer these days, and would likely be used in reaper in wine,
or reaper/bitwig/mixbuss/traction if using LinVst
This video is a 'scratchpad', showing basic sosund/room ideas for building a composition in Miroslav:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceyu11r4p04
so check the demo videos at the IK link/youtube etc. I have a 'lite' version and it works well
using wine and reaper. Install/authorization not a problem
16 part multi-timbral, 4 effects and an eq for each sound.
Can integrate into SampleTank4 gui if that is purchased later.
Cheers

Re: Commercial orchestral libraries in linux?
Last time I checked it was only possible to control dynamics with velocity so it was impossible to create expressive lines and crescendos. Is this still the case?glowrak guy wrote:https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/philharmonik2/

Re: Commercial orchestral libraries in linux?
This is an anouncement page already four years old, with lots of details,
and should be useful when considered with thew Rudess video, from a year later,
where playability was very important.
