Just in the last two weeks I've read here about the availability of Linux-native plugins from Illformed, Auburn Sounds and ToneLib.
This took me by surprise. Aside from some synths, I previously only knew of Overtone, Harrison, U-he and Tracktion plugins being available for Linux.
Is this a trend? Are there other recent additions?
Current list of commercial plugins?

Re: Current list of commercial plugins?
It's not a trend really, but rather a natural flow of things. There's no rush among plugin vendors, but they, one after another, discover GNU/Linux as a good audio production platform, slowly porting their stuff to Linux VST format. Some people, like the guy behind Cut Through Records, were frustrated with VST3 formats, so they started releasing commercial LV2s, just like Harrison. Some other people, like Chris from airwindows, publicly released all of their source code under a free license (because Patreon fully covers all of his expenses by now, hence the decision), so now they are all compiled and available for free as native VSTs, and there's even more stuff coming out. Other vendors that I am aware of who actually make Linux stuff are: discoDSP, Modartt (makers of truly magnificent Pianoteq), BltWorks, Evil Turtle Productions. Of course, there are more, and I just forgot them, so the situation isn't as bad as Windows fanboys tell us. Actually, we're all packed for real music production, and are quite good in means of instruments necessary to make pre-programmed noise they call “EDM”. Other electronic music, including what can actually be called so, is also not a big problem for years already. The set of tools is somewhat limited, but expands constantly. Not exponentially, but still.

Oh, and the Sonarworks, of course. Their Reference plugin is still in beta, but it already works like a charm, and I'm seriously thinking about buying it along with ToneLib's stuff. I'm rarely in our studio where I've got my monitors, so this will definitely speed up my mixing process a lot.

Is this HP still up to date or is it active? (Current VST are listed.)davephillips wrote:http://linux-sound.org/linux-vst-plugins.html
I thought it is no longer maintained because it says "New Additions" --> "New Additions for Winter 2006/2007:".

Yes, I also read today and was possessively surprised.tripomatic wrote:And it has had a new update 12 october .
So far I had only clicked on the "New Additions" and thought the HP is old.

Re: Current list of commercial plugins?
Greetings !
Just to clarify: I stopped maintaining linux-sound.org quite a while ago, the site has remained online for historical and practical purposes but it's clearly time for it to fold. However, I will continue to maintain the VST plugins page.
Best regards,
Dave Phillips
