does this treat all frequencies as rays? only frequencies above the Schroeder Frequency behave like that.
It doesn't simulate frequencies. It simulates the spreading of the front of the wave. Different fronts of different waves come at the same place at the different instants of time, this is similar to mixing of the huge set of Comb filters, so finally you get some impulse response at the point and, as a result, a frequency response.

You can use rooms from presets or download them from this place:

i saw your video on youtube after my post. I don't think it will do what I want to do. it makes perfect sense for creating reverbs at will, and is fantastic as such.
my intention is to create an IR of a virtual studio (with all the treatment) to create a "room" for my headphones. I guess my whish is too comlplex for this software!?

Cap, I think you're looking for this? I was about to ask if the LSP plugin will evolve to this:

hey man. we are always on the same wavelenght. lol
I was looking into Waves NX today, which kind of sucks in the youtube demos (no real virtual room, more of a sufisticated pan). but i downloaded their base software which enables the demos. I will definitly demo this from the video, too. thanks.
here they discuss more software of this kind (I will demo all I can): https://vi-control.net/community/thread ... ack.72822/
btw. I worked a lot on Room 4 of ASH-IR which has unfortunatly a lot of problems in the low end (high end professional studio. why?). I still owe you a topic. and I will make one once I found my final solution. I don't think algos can realy simulate a room (but as I said I will demo them). the IR convolution solution is perfect, IF you can find a binaural room impulse response of a "perfect room". unfortunatly those perfect IRs don't seam to be available. maybe they use this tecnology in the video you linked? I will try out

EDIT: btw: here I show the old room 4 (he updated it after I told him about the shitty low end; didn't realy solve it) -have to use headphones; obviously-: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TJC0NF ... e=youtu.be featuring LSP software lol
I have played around with the raw IRs from Room 4 he sent me and DRCed them. they got better. but you can't DRC ringing. only make it softer

I don't understand your purposes and use case. If you want to simulate an impulse response of the specific room, you can build model of this room and simulate the impulse response in the Room Builder plugin. The only one thing is, the more polygons you use, the slower algorithm does process your room. So I don't recommend to catch fleas: you can start with simulating the room form and objects inside of the room with low-polygon models.

Sorry, troubles with my home provider. It should be recovered the next day (as I estimate).

I just discovered a bug in Reaper when using the VST Spectrum Analyzer x12. When changing the Tolerance Parameter the DAW crashes with

Code: Select all

./reaper
jack: created client
jack: setting TIME_CRITICAL = 74
jack: activated client
 Segmentation fault
Maybe you need to change it several time until it crashes and keep the track playing while changing it.

Maybe I'm overseeing something. When I load the parametric EQ into Carla and save it under a carxp file the EQ settings are lost after starting carla again. With the EQ10 equalizer the settings are restored.

Is it reproducible for other hosts?

Do you use latest Carla? I should try the version you use to see what's happening.

I can't reproduce with the LSP version in kxstudio repo and reaper 5.980.
