Here comes my new track with a hypnotical Hip Hop (?) Beat:

(catching up on music posted on LM ...)

The track has a well-balanced atmospheric drive which maintains interest throughout, and I'm saying that without even knowing who the person was. I did look up the name though.

The mix supports well the atmosphere. Every component works together, not one stealing the focus. The piece keeps a suspense going, which is nice.

Makes me think a bit about material which you probably know, like Kruder & Dorfmeister and Tosca.

Tosca:

And this K&D for the video from "Baraka" that was put to it:

Thank you! Jayne Mansfield is quite famous. The track got the name when it was almost finished and when I was looking for samples. The sample refering to wrong place and wrong time refers to her car accident. You can read about her story and her connection to Anton Lavey at wiki. I like such underground gossip stuff :).

I feel the track transports a menacing and hopeless atmosphere which is partially masked by the lovely beat.

I know K&D and listened also to Tosca. I will check out the songs tomorrow. They didn't come into my mind, but I listened a lot to the K&D Sessions album. That was 15 years ago .. :\

Very nice balance to the sound, and interesting stereo effects in the percussion. The mood of the piece sort of reminds me of Musique Non Stop. Very nice work, as always.

It's amazing what a steady drumbeat can do to the mood of a piece. I'm also reminded of the ambient synth sounds at the end of the first track on the Automat 1978 album (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7nQHBiv_u0, starting at about 4:50, reprised at 15:40 until the end of the first track). This is a very intense and unsettled sound, but the rhythm tracks keep to momentum going.

Thanks milo. I listened to the Automat album and I like it. You mean Musique Non Stop by KRAFTWERK?
Luckily that track took me only ~2 weekends. I put the arrangement together very quickly in Renoise and the next day it turned out that it is finished like it is.

Yes, I was thinking that, but now that I listen to it again it is a bit more upbeat and uptempo than I was remembering: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTQmwMs ... eC&index=1

I love the Automat album. It has changed so much of how I listen to electronic music. The compositions, especially on the A side of the album, are just fantastic, and the sound engineering holds up really well for a 40-year old analog synth album.
