Crackling and poping noise on reaper

Hi,

I have crackling and poping noise on Reaper (no wine) when i use poulin plugins (windows) to play the guitar.

The operative system is ubuntustudio 19.04 with low latency kernel.

ahh, no xruns on guitarix

any solution?

This is because of Wine, but there's too little data to say where the problem lies in exactly.

I don't know your CPU and if you're using onboard or an external soundcard like a Focusrite Scarlett. Onboard stuff it seems can't go below a frame period of 128 using a standard kernel and 64 frames with an RT Kernel. Also, any sample rate above 48000hz gives me issues on Intel Onboard but with my second gen Focusrite I can do a sample rate of 192000hz. That should be a good start. Lastly, if this plugin is a Windows plugin you may want to use wine staging and raise wineserver's priority. You may want to consider using carla to host the plugin or run it standalone and use wineasio for low latency. These are just a few solutions.

I solved it modif properties to jack:
Buffer size 1024 and periods/buffer 2
