I found a not-so-expensive source for bass traps (Pyra Bass series):

I read that this stuff is much too light weight too be effective. This will work and has a good price

I can't complain.I have a mix of the cheaper Pyra Bass and the more expensive Auralex Acoustics Lenrd Bass Traps Charcoal 4 in my corners.

Works ok.
Did you measure it? I live near HOFA studios, maybe I pass by the next time to get some ideas. They also offer free guidance.

I bought a Superlux ECM-999 and tried a Windows software named Room EQ Wizard. Then I tried the builtin measuring function of my Behringer Ultra-Curve Pro.

I wasn't happy since it's so dependent from the mic's position. I think I would have to run lots of tests with different mic positions to get a reasonable result.

So my fallback solution was listening to Mark Knopfler's "Shangri La" album. I like its sound.
I compared the speakers' sound with my unequalized headphones' sound until I was satisfied.

Speakers are Neumann KH120A plus KH805 sub. Headphones are AKG K812.

Result was that I have only a +5 dB high shelf at 6324 Hz with 12 dB/oct.

Room EQ wizard runs also with Linux in case you missed that.

You absolutely nailed the guitar solo! I am very impressed with your playing. Overall the sound is mixed and balanced well. Very professional sounding. The time you have spent setting up your studio was well spent.

All the hard and genius guitar parts are not played by me but by a friend, Patrick Fey.

I am learning guitar for a few weeks so I was only able to play the simple guitar powerchords in the 1st refrain and some strange sounds (thanks to my new, cheap 125 EUR powerstrat and Guitarix).
