Hi folks,
I'm new to Linux, audio production and these forums. Hello! I'm using UbuntuStudio 18.10 on an old Macbook 4,1. I have gone through some instructions on setting up WINE for Reaper. I want to run Reaper natively in Linux, but I would like the option of using Windows VSTs in Carla, so that's why I did that.
I've been muddling through setting up Pulseaudio, Jack, ALSA, my midi bridge and Reaper. So far I've gotten quite a lot done using the time honored tradition of copy pasta. So that's good.
My current problem is with sample-rates. When I set the sample rate to be 48000 in Cadence, audio playback from a youtube video becomes pitch and speed shifted up. Now, I can see why this might happen because the sample-rate has increased, but I don't want it to happen.
Is there a way to increase the sample rate in Cadence without affecting the playback of sound/video routed through pulseaudio?
I have not yet tested this effect with a purely midi or plugin generated sound, mostly because I haven't yet gotten these things working yet. Should I expect the same sort of trouble there? If so, what would be the fix?
Thank you for your time!
