Here is my family Christmas recording for this year: https://alansanderson.band/2019/12/21/o ... -emmanuel/.
The arrangement was done by one of my teenagers, and I think he did a fine job. He also helped with the recording, mixing, and mastering. Another LinuxMusician in the making!
Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!

Great arrangement. My favorite is the clarinet part Did you use samples for the tubular chimes?

Yes, the tubular bells are the standard Ardour midi synth. That's the only virtual instrument in the piece. I think they sound pretty good.

That's great and well done with a lot of soul!! It reminds me a bit of a band called KLOSTER.

folderol and psyocean, thank you for your thoughts, and thank you for listening!
Here are the words:
Here are the words:
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here,
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

Basslint, Merry Christmas to you! Yes, it is nice to belong to a community of believers. I have always thought that ethos of Free Software is a good match for the spirit of cooperation and generosity in Christianity. Everything that we have really belongs to God, so we should share what we have freely. Or in this case, Freely.
