Newbie on Electronic Music

Post by Glocke »

Hey guys and girls,

(sorry if this subforum isn't the right one, feel free to move or delete)

I'm pretty new to electronic music and I worked through some of unfa's videos on YouTube to get into synths etc. So I've been working on a Track based on Zyn with some vocal records (done for my death metal band, and hardly deformed by time stretching and pitch shifting).

I'd like to hear your feedback on the whole thing.

Thx in advance

An angry Donald Duck plays with a drum machine. . . I like it!

Seriously, you laid down a pretty solid track here, especially considering that these are new tools to you. I like the little touches, like the wandering filter cutoff on your synth arpeggio.

This track is even more proof that anything sounds good over a cool drumbeat. Keep cranking out the tunes!

I suspect that adding some reverb would be beneficial for it.

As a fan of metal, electronic music, and delightful juxtapositions, I must declare: this rules!

I really dig when the phaser hits @ 0:24 (lends it some extra sense of motion). Also, that growl @ 1:05 is great.

Out of curiosity, what's the name of your band?

Thanks for sharing!

I love the idea, the kicks sound huge in my headphones. I would like the bass to be tighter and if the mix is slightly better, it will sound even better. It is great for a newbie tho, i was making very bad tracks when i started out.

If you would like to add another synth to your arsenal, I’d recommend Surge (LV2 and VST), its a pretty awesome synth and open source equivalent to serum.
