I looked at those links. Thanks. I will try and learn more about those styles.
I am sort of going for that type of thing somewhat. Personally, I am a fan of what some used to call "electro-industrial".
Since then and the whole dubstep/brostep/"edm" and the idm/downtempo or the techno/jungle/dnb thing, the genres have gotten out of hand. I pretty much like most types of electronic music if they are done well. But in the 1980s and 1990s and even into the 2000s, the electro-industrial by Front Line Assembly and Front 242 was really impressive. I never gave up on them.
It's weird though, because trent reznor of Nine Inch Nails went back into rock and metal, front 242 seems to have quit, and even KMFDM don't do as much electronic stuff as they used to and are also now more of a rock/metal band. And the world won't be the same without Prince, of course. I know he wasn't in the same genres, but tune like Dance On kind of affected me.
I used to listen to Nitzer Ebb and Prayer Tower too. I'm not sure what happened to them. Even Skinny Puppy doesn't make the same styles as they used to.
But hopefully the legacies of those great bands will not be forgotten, and those of us who remember them can continue the craft that unites us all.
