Re: The Light Years
I like the composition and the atmosphere of the song. From the start to ~4:36 it feels quite compressed and muddy (maybe some high pass filters would help?) and everything is sitting too much in the center (it almost sounds mono). At 4:36 it opens up and sounds much (!!!) better. The drums could be a little bit louder and I would make more use of panning and EQing to better separate the instruments. Just my impression ...

Re: The Light Years
Nice mood, nice piece. I agree with lillith for the 'mono' feel. It calls for opening up on the sides. I wished I had pan controls for the tracks during listening !
Opening up the piece would also open up the dynamics and offer a chance to remix it with more variations. Anyways the intent to have variations is there with the flute/choir break.
BTW, I listened to the youtube version for the images also. I'd assume the other posting sounds the same.
Even as such, in this 'mono' rendering, the piece is very good. Very heart felt guitar in there, as well as with the melodies and arrangements.
Cheers.

Re: The Light Years
I enjoyed this, bit think it was a bit 'dense'. The fuzz on the guitar seemed to be filling all the space - if you know what I mean.
The Yoshimi guy {apparently now an 'elderly'}
