Pumpernickel and Periwinkle

Post by Michael Willis »

Here's a waltz that I composed over the last week as a sound test after giving my orchestra template an overhaul.
Pumpernickel and Periwinkle

Please rip it to shreds with any feedback about the composition or audio production. Thanks!

Thanks! I forgot to mention that this uses the new reverb plugin that I've been working on with rghvdberg, which I think in part accounts for the clear sound.

Hi,

Nothing to rip to shreds here... a great showcase of your arranging talents, your template and that nice new Reverb!

I see an ornate ballroom, with the ladies and gentlemen suitable attired and engaged in a formal dance :D

Unfortunately the link seems to be broke.

Michael, could you please provide a (new) working link, I'd really like to listen to that piece, especially because I'm interested in your Ardour template.

Thanks!

Yes, it is so sad, instaud.io went bust a while back. I'll see what I can do about digging up this project and sharing it again.

I keep thinking that I should update the orchestra template, I have learned a lot since I made it. Specifically, the signal routing and busses are much more complicated than they need to be.

Edit: I found it! I just barely uploaded it to SoundCloud:

Very nice Michael! Great arrangement, not that I'm really qualified to comment :D
