During Rain

Post by davephillips »

Greetings,

https://soundcloud.com/davephillips69/d ... n-for-will

New music on old stuff. The sole instrument is a Full Tines preset from my fondly-remembered Yamaha TX802 (here realized via Hexter's sys-ex import function) processed with a simple Calf reverb patch (medium empty hall, slightly customized). The sequence was created with Voyetra's Sequencer Plus Gold running under DOSemu, the audio was recorded with ecasound, and the final edits (trimming, normalization) were done with mhWaveEdit.

It's dedicated to Will Godfrey. To my ears Will's music often seems to evoke an "enchanted" nature, which is how I was feeling during the making of the music (we were experiencing some very anomalous weather here). Hopefully my little piece evokes a bit of that "enchantment a la folderol". :)

The MIDI file is available :

Feel free to bend, fold, spindle, and mutilate. Musically, of course.

Best,

dp

Nice! Very relaxing, I like the subtle changes in harmonic themes, and I love the fact that you shared the midi file, very "open" if I may say so. I don't know if I'll end up poking around with the midi, but what a different world this would be if musicians shared more like this.
