Re: Paranormal Phenomena Lab
Interesting orchestral work, but I found the vid a distraction. To me it didn't seem to fit the music.

Re: Paranormal Phenomena Lab
Very nice piece.
With the over-abundant number of details available at the filming site, the possibility existed to make more of a video using a montage of close-ups, leaving the common-place sight of visitors beside.
Have you considered mixing rhythms with an orchestral approach for some avant-garde rock ? Eg. Univers Zéro from Belgium:

Re: Paranormal Phenomena Lab
Thanks for comments, dears!
Unfortunately I do not have abilities to create a full-value videoclip, but make cuts from professional foreign movies have no desires, so have yet to enjoy the modest possibilities that I have:) Perhaps over time it will turn out to record playable video with the script and roles.
Orchestral and rock rhythms at times somewhere can be similar...

Re: Paranormal Phenomena Lab
I should look into the works of Sergey Kuryokhin. The example you provided blends a 'pop' approach (easy-going melodies) with orchestral supportive arrangements but also some orchestral-only written parts, which is nice. Thanks for sharing the link.
The European avant-garde rock bands tends to have a darker approach, absolutely not pop.
There are also dynamic orchestrations while staying within the rock instrumentation (no elements of pop) :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-wl2XrN3XY
Edit: I must add a clarification about the beginning of that piece. It mentions a mental hospital because the focus of this 2CD work by Swedish band Isildurs Bane is about Austrian Adolf Wölfli which happened to have spent a large part of his life in a mental hospital making paintings and composing music. You can see two of his paitings on the wikipedia page (1) and a search will show more. Apart from isildurs Bane, Terry Riley and others have made music inspired Wölfli.
Isildurs Bane also made an album abotu Ferdinand Cheval, the French postman who collected rocks everyday to finally built a "palace". The link to to IB live performace wiht an orchestra (2) from their live CD.. Ferdinand Cheval "Palais idéal" can be seen at (3).

Re: Paranormal Phenomena Lab
I find Haggard is using "classical sounds" as support for what would otherwise be heavy metal music, with folk underpinnings. In the same style, I find Epica incorporates more of the actual classical compositional structure into their pieces, yielding a more cinematic approach and an actual blend with metal while with Haggard it's separated much more.
Epica - Cry for the Moon
I prefer music that actually have compositional orchestration in its structure rather than only decorations.
For instance:
Magma - M.D.K.
If you want to listen to the whole piece which lasts 45 minutes.

Re: Paranormal Phenomena Lab
Henry Cow is OK, although I tend to stay away from a too intellectualized approach. Which they can venture into, although it might very well be a matter of taste also. Very early Magma tend to go into abstract forms also. I like it when it 'grooves', any groove.
You might know about Koenjihyakkei, which is also based on a drummer, Tatsuya Yoshida, and they also have their own 'language', if those common elements mean anything (they're also considered a Zeuhl band) :
Live at Koenji High 2010
Back to Magma and M.D.K., it's nice to see that some are covering that music recently:
Conservatoire de Niort MDK
Collectif PTÄH
