Apologies for this stupid question. In the ect/limits/config file I do have the required entries ( I hope) Forgive me if they are wrong, I'm not on that system at the moment.
Memlock - unlimited
Rtprio - 95
Nice - -19
My question is, must they or musn't they have "#" signs before them? I am never sure which does which.
Thanks very much.

Re: ect/limits/config file
In most file formats, # is comment sign, so lines beginning with it are not effective.Bryan88 wrote:Apologies for this stupid question. In the ect/limits/config file I do have the required entries ( I hope) Forgive me if they are wrong, I'm not on that system at the moment.

Re: ect/limits/config file
The entry "@audio - nice -19" has no influence on Linux Audio realtime. IMHO

# If you want to enable/disable realtime permissions, run
#
# dpkg-reconfigure -p high jackd
@audio - rtprio 95
@audio - memlock unlimited
#@audio - nice -19

I assume that is why it's commented out. Thanks for the help everyone.khz wrote:The entry "@audio - nice -19" has no influence on Linux Audio realtime. IMHO

Re: ect/limits/config file
Because I have just read it the first time consciously and it is unclear to me: Must or should one still do the "dpkg-reconfigure -p high jackd" after adding the entries "@audio - rtprio 95" and "@audio - memlock unlimited" or does the "dpkg-reconfigure -p high jackd" create the entries in the limits.conf automated?
