I discovered that the inside foam of the grille windscreen from my DM microphone crumbling. (image below)
is this inside foam for sale separately? Or are there other options to replace it with?

Yes https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... m&_sacat=0
They exist at least, must be sold somewhere for your specific mic. Or perhaps you can use one from another make.

Thank you. But i do not mean that kind of foams. I mean the foam inside the grill ball.
I am not going to spend $15 or more for a new grill ball where foam cost almost nothing. I am going to replace the foam myself. Not only for this one but this will happen more in the future.

Replacement foams are indeed available at the link provided by sysrqer, for example this one for a shure model:

You might wish to try to search for something like "your-microphone-model-name Replacement Foam" online. If not lucky, try that for some very similar model maybe.

That looks like a foam grill to replace the totall (metal) grill or as outside cover of it.. Does not look like the inside foam from a metal grill.
But if so. For that price i can buy a total new metal grill ball WITH new foam inside. To expencive option.

Extraordinair costs to replace a few dimes of simple foam. We are talking foam! With which you stuff a pillow (but not black).

I am looking for a foam to replace the original inside foam from the grill ball, or an alternative foam for that. Simple black foam 4-5mm thick shaped or flat. With the needed amount of foam i think about no more costs than a dollar a microphone. Or somewhere three dollars a square meter.

Aw yeah, now that I look at it better it does seem like something that goes on the outside.

Acoustic foam is not a trival product, and I know from experience as an Acoustic Engineer that it involves some development time. However, it is still a very cheap part. I think that most of the cost of spares comes from the fact that there is perhaps a very little demand, and most are produced locally by third party manufacturers wherever the factories for the whole product are. Perhaps, it is not commercially valuable to export them in isolation.

That is my thought too. There is no high specifications in it. It only has to let through all sound and stop the spitting and puffing. If an external foam (mostly 1/4 inch or more thick) can do this job each slightly open foam must can do as replacement.
Those grill ball prices? O my god i sometimes buy (good!) microphones for less.

Finally found some.
$1.22 / piece. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Replace ... 12619.html
$1.74 / piece. https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/001133 ... and-beta58

And someone who already had the same idea.
https://www.harmonycentral.com/forum/fo ... 33/366886-
(the last ebay option for $9 can be done better i think)

But eventually i still want to look for alternatives to not be brand or type independent. I also have some less to not common microphones in use and for which no original brand or type replacement can be found. I want to learn the trick.
Must be possible for some simple foam. I still am looking forward for "house or kitchen" alternatives. I think i will go ask at a fabric store on occasion.
