RME, Fireface UCX...

Hi, just got a RME fireface UCX as it was announced to be UAC / USB audio device class compliant..

You need to manually configure it to become what they call "CC", and it sure does show up, but there seem to be no proper descriptors for the physical ins and outs and their gain controls, so alsamixer will simply show just one fader which does nothing

I believe I could manually figure out which endpoint goes where and get all analog channels in and out working.. But... The phantom power for mic doesn't seem to have a controller exposed. Does anyone know how to do this?

I'm not ok using the awkward "1-knob-interface on the panel", and I refuse install their total-mix pc/mac software to change params.

Kind of disappointing for such a nice, but pricey interface...

Any tips & thoughts?

There is supposed to be a patch for Linux 5.1 kernel for this device , so don't get rid of it yet . I've been looking at this device for myself as well .... Google around you may have better luck at getting it going and working for you in the meantime til Linux 5.1 release .
