Looking for pci sound card with wavetable connector for ubuntu studio
I just installed ubuntu studio and am looking for a pci sound card that will work with this system and which has a wavetable connector for a daughterboard. Can anyone recommend? I will also be getting a focusrite scarlett usb interface for audio recording. The pci card is to allow quick midi access to synth sounds on the board. Thanks.

I have no idea what a wavetable connector is but the Emu 0404 PCI soundcard can load soundfonts, if you really want to go down that route. They can sometimes be found on the market for very little money because... they are PCI and not many people have computers with PCI slots any longer.
It was superseded by the 0404 PCIe (I think?) which may still support soundfonts.
The 0404 PCI works well in Linux, the soundcard is really cheap because it is ancient and it is excellent quality sonically wise. I have one although I don't use it on a Linux workstation any longer.
The 0404 PCIe may be near identical apart from the bus interface but do your own research.
