PreSonus FIRESTUDIO project / Linux / HOW ???

Post by Zergei72 »

Trying to get my FIRESTUDIO project working on Linux ... Ubuntu Studio and KXStudio tested so far ;
When I boot my PC the connection led on the interface is red and when the OS is fully loaded
the led goes briefly to blue and then returns to constant red .

When I start Ardour 5 the audio setup windows sees the interface correctly in / output device : FireStudio Project, but when I click
to start the audio engine it says, "Failed to open the audio device ." .

There's no sign of the PreSonus in Qjackctl, though .

If anyone's had success with this interface, please share it :-)

Are you trying to use Jack or ALSA?

OK ...

Went ahead to try the latest AVLinux 2017 on my other pc ...
this one has no mobo integrated firewire-port, so I invested in a DELOCK PCI Express firewire expansion card .

After starting QJackCtl using ALSA I got the connection working ... the connection led stays now constantly on blue .

I got this far using a LIVE-USB-disk ...

See how it'll end up after installing to HDD

Any suggestions are wellcome though ...
