Hello everyone,
Lately, I have been using Linux much more for my daily computing activities. With this being said I find myself using my Windows workstation much less. My current goal of activating my PreSonus AudioBox USB on Linux has not been successful. When I plug in the device the output of the error is such:
dmesg:
[ 445.712729] usb 1-3: new full-speed USB device number 5 using xhci_hcd
[ 447.079412] usb 1-3: unable to read config index 0 descriptor/start: -75
[ 447.079420] usb 1-3: can't read configurations, error -75
[ 447.196713] usb 1-3: new full-speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd
[ 447.340769] usb 1-3: unable to read config index 0 descriptor/all
[ 447.340776] usb 1-3: can't read configurations, error -75
[ 447.460677] usb 1-3: new full-speed USB device number 7 using xhci_hcd
[ 447.483968] usb 1-3: unable to read config index 0 descriptor/start: -75
[ 447.483975] usb 1-3: can't read configurations, error -75
[ 447.600705] usb 1-3: new full-speed USB device number 8 using xhci_hcd
[ 447.627434] usb 1-3: device descriptor read/all, error -75
[ 447.627463] usb usb1-port3: unable to enumerate USB device
I verified that it is not the cable - tried swapping it for another one and experienced the same symptom. I also plugged it back into on my Windows machine and it works just fine. The same error occurs on both USB 2.0 and 3.0. My current suspicion is the kernel. Could anyone shed some light if it could be? And if so what might I need to change in order for it to work?

Re: Troubleshooting 'dmesg' error when connecting AudioBox USB
Have you tried removing the other USB devices, and trying it on a different port?
