Hi guys, I already have a MIDI 88 keys keyboard that I use as synth, organ and so on, connected to the laptop that I use as an expander to load virtual synths.
I would like to know if there is a way to set up the laptop's own keyboard as a MIDI controller without having to connect an external pad controller, so that I can, for example, open up Linux Sampler or other programs and assign some keys to some preloaded effects, sounds, samples etc. to bring some more fancy in the live performance.
The lack of velocity sensitivity in this case is not a problem.
Thank you

Re: Use laptop keyboard as a MIDI controller
Thank you all guys, I am reading the posts you suggested me.
Anyway, I found a program called Sooper Looper which has the possibility to configure laptop keys to execute certain actions on the audio samples. Something like press 1 to play loop 1 and so on. Do you think it can be useful for my purposes?
