Scarlett 2i2, audio working on headphones, not on line out

Hello!

I've always used my Scarlett 2i2 with headphones, never with speakers (line out). Now I've tried to connect the line out to a mixer, but it gives absolutely no signal.
Is there anything that should be activated at the software level (e.g. in Cadence or ALSA)?

Running KXStudio on a ThinkPad.

aplay -l
arecord -l

look in each command's output for the entries within brackets.
These should appear as choosable options when using qjackctl Input Device
and Output Device selector in it's setup panel. Click the widgets to the right
of each device, to get the choices. You can have different input/output devices,
if the need/desire exists. Like a pci card for output, and a usb guitar interface.
Make sure your Scarlet i/o isn't muted by a mixer app. alsamixergui should
reveal all the sound outputs.

I have a 2i2 as well: Nothing to be done on the software side. the card has only a single stereo channel.
The 2 physical outputs pairs are controlled by the discrete volumes knobs on the front panel - should be pretty straightforward.
So if you have sound in the headphones, but not in the main out, this is most likely a physical connectivity issue.
Check your cables on the back panel (maybe you are using stereo jacks instead of 2 x mono?), is the main volume raised?
You could also maybe try to plug your headphones in one of the outs - not sure if the stereo connector will play well, but if it does you should hear something.
But of course it can also be a defective unit...
