Hi.
What are the best options for an USB audio interface with 4 XLR in's or more?
For using with Linux, of course...
Thank you

I too would be interested in opinions (and experience) on this. Tonight I had a chance to buy a Tascam US1641 in great condition for a ridiculously low price, and I was very sad to find out it doesn't work under Linux. I would like to set up my studio to record 8 tracks at once with the possibility to add a second 8-channel interface later for a real 16 track studio environment. Is this attainable today on a Linux system? I would go back to analog tape before going to MS windows!

I purchased an m-audio m-track quad, however, unfortunately, it does not seem to be compatible in a linux environment. =/ Thus, it is by no means the best.

I'm using a Presonus 1818vsl and I'm very satisfied with the sound and stability.
I'm using KX Studio on a laptop.
There's one thing to keep in mind: The soundcard works best when connected to a usb 2.0 hub, it tends to give xruns when connected to a usb 3.0 hub.
There are some threads on this forum about this soundcard.
Goodluck, and keep us updated.
