Re: Acid Box 303-ish sequencer
I was just about to mention this AcidBox. Speaking of a company that does plugins for Windows, Mac and Linux.
They also have a free plugin, the InstaLooper:

Haven't tried any yet.

That thing is insanely good - even the accent accumulation seems to be working.
I don't think there's anything that comes close on Linux, at least natively.
Please talk me away from buying it

That's a rather good case, thanks falkTX.
I was also wondering about the toolkit used, but didn't bother looking further.
As I understand, this doesn't necessarily rule out that a QT commercial license is used there, but if they went for the LGPL option, this could be cleared up with some LGPL mentions, right?
That doesn't sound too much like a big deal, but should indeed be clarified.
I'll just ask them on G+ and see if I get something meaningful back.

Hello,
we are using LGPL licensing with dynamic linking.
The Linux distribution must have the qt4 libs in order to get the UI working.
Best Regards.

The fact they responded so quickly is also a point in their favour.
