Polyphone importing 2th soundfont

Post by zoco »

Can't find next question in online manuals.
Is it possible to import an already existing second soundfont into an existing Polyphone project to eventually get them next to each other in the core project soundfont?

Yes, you can load and edit several soundfonts at the same time.

Thank you antiesen. Hearing this makes me happy.
I will search for it and try it. Perhaps you can give me some direction or tips?

Just load the soundfonts you want to work on. They are listed on the left side. You can then unfold the soundfonts and see the folders for samples, instruments and presets. Now you can copy & paste - or drag & drop between them.
When you copy presets, the corresponding instruments and waves are automatically copied.
If you have further or specific questions I am glad if I can help you.

Thanks again.

I still have to try. Wasn't behind that computer yet.
Perhaps i can be some clearer to be clear we are talking about the same.

For instance, i have the soundfonts,
snare.sf2
hyhat.sf2
kick.sf2
tom.sf2

And i want those in a new to build soundfont with the name drums.sf2.
Can i then create the drums.sf2 to import the mentioned soundfonts?

Set like in this soundfont, although these are harmonicas. But then,
1 snare.sf2
2 hyhat.sf2
3 kick.sf2
4 tom.sf2

:?: The picture looks rather like sounds are mapped on channels, which does not work with polyphonic.
But otherwise you can combine different sounds from different soundfonts in a new one.

I am not that far into that, but as far as i could see channel mapping (like in that image) is possible in polyphonic while building.
My actual question is, can i import sf2's next to each other as those kind off "channels" (if they are named channels?).

I think you should try it now. Probably it will be clearer for you then.
