Libre Orchestra

Post by Lyberta »

Libre Orchestra is a a collection of sampled orchestral instruments in SFZ format that are free cultural works.

I have gone through all files of No Budget Orchestra and cherry picked 100% libre instruments from it. Unfortunately, there are only 9 of them which is very little. This became the first release - 0.1.

Website: https://libreorchestra.net/

Stable release: 0.1
Download ZIP archive: https://libreorchestra.net/download/Lib ... tra0.1.zip
Download DEB package: https://libreorchestra.net/download/lib ... 22_all.deb

Git repository (merge requests welcome!): https://gitlab.com/libre-orchestra/orchestra

I recently started practicing clarinet again (after several years of not playing). I'm considering taking samples and making a virtual instrument in SFZ format, I can possibly contribute this to Libre Orchestra if the results are satisfactory.

Also if anybody else is interested in clarinet samples, let me know (I'm not sure if another collection like NBO or VPO could stand a better solo clarinet).

As long as samples will be libre, I'm fine. There is no clarinet in LO so basically anything reasonable will work.
