Another solo cello. This has more subtle vibrato than the one I posted a few months ago.

Hi folks,

I've been searching a little, but I wonder which software you use to play sfz with?
Is it linux sampler, or are there other tools as well? (The documentation for linux sampler
says that sfz is only partly implemented, but I guess it sounds good anyway.)

EDIT: Right after posting this message, I saw the "The state of sample players on Linux" thread.
Reading through it now. I'll probably get the answers there.

The only 2 native SFZ players I know about are linuxsampler and calfbox. Some Windows ones are possible to run with wine. SFZ is actually is not a completely standard format - many vendors have added their own extensions and so there is probably no SFZ players that supports all possible SFZ variants. Also there are a quite a lot SFZ parameters to potentially support. Certainly, linuxsampler supports a large number of the fairly standard SFZ parameters and does a decent job with all the SFZ I've tried with it. (of course it could be said that I don't have any else much to compare it with, nor do I actually have very many SFZ files to try since the big problem in Linux samplers is the scarcity of sample files). Calfbox is newer and in an earlier stage of development, and I have not tried it yet.
